Burkina Faso: in activity
In the area of health, SEMAFO Foundation favours projects that impact large numbers of people with a specific focus on women. Since July 2019, our actions have been geared towards raising awareness and providing food and equipment.
In short
- Setting up a hospital bed ward in the Wona CSPS and provision of 8 beds
and medical items (trolleys, hoists, baby scales, etc.) (2018-2019) - Relocation of the Dangouna CSPS with 4 latrines and an incinerator in addition to 2 lodgings fitted with latrines and kitchens (2018-2019)
- 67,264 people affected (2018-2019)
- Installation of solar panels on the health center in Fobiri, benefiting 6,000 people (2017-2018)
- Refurbishment of the health centier in Kalbouli (2017-2018)
- Installation of a fence for Wona CSPS (2015)
- Construction of 2 latrines and 1 shower at Wona (2015-2016)
- Renovation of the CSPS of Wona in partnership with TOTAL, in addition to construction of 2 latrines and a shower (2015)
- Electrification of the Tiawa health center, the maternity clinic in Bolsi and the Boulon Djounga health center in Niger (October 2012)
- Solar electrification of 6 health centers in Burkina Faso: Bana, Dangouna, Kona, Wona and Yona in 2011 and Mana in 2013
- In partnership with Health Partners Canada (HPI), the Foundation distributed mother-child kits containing medication, health supplements and delivery packs for women who had regular appointments (pre-natal, post-natal and newborn) in health and maternity centers in Niger
- Construction of a health center in Bossey Bangou in Niger (in partnership with the Rotary club of Dartmouth (2009)
