Burkina Faso: in activity in Bana, Wona and Kona

With this project, Foundation SEMAFO contributes to the communal development of the Bana and Kona communes.

The aim of this project is to improve community quality of life by supplying drinking water and at a later date, electricity. Subdivision planning eventually contributes to the fight against poverty because the new infrastructures offer potential for income-generating activities. Burkinabe political and administrative figures such as the Minister responsible for the department and the regional governor present at the official inauguration in October  , emphasised the importance of SEMAFO Foundation’s assistance. The latter alleviates the Burkinabe government, which cannot meet the many serious and urgent needs of the population.

In short

  • Land Subdivision of Bana: 1,311 housing plots; 34 administrative reserves; 8 places of worship; 7 processing centers for household waste; 8 green spaces.
  • Land subdivision of Kona: 150 hectares with 1,393 housing plots; 111 plots for businesses; 15 reserves of land; 16 administrative reserves; 6 green spaces; 3 primary schools; 2 secondary education institutions; 5 places of worship; 5 sacred groves; 1 sports field; 3 processing centers for household waste.
  • Land subdivision of Wona: 2,869 plots principally assigned for business.
